Where is my data stored? Everything you write, any photos you attach, and any locations you tag stay on your device. If you’ve turned on iCloud backup (on by default, in Settings), your journal entries and weekly reflections also sync to your own private iCloud account. Evensong doesn’t use accounts of its own or run any servers - there’s nothing stored on infrastructure we operate.
I deleted the app and lost my entries. Can I get them back? If you had iCloud backup turned on, yes - reinstall Evensong while signed into the same iCloud account and your entries restore automatically. If it was off, unfortunately no: everything was stored only on your device, so deleting the app deleted your journal data permanently. We recommend keeping iCloud backup on (or your device’s own backup) as a safety net.
Can I change the daily prompts? Yes. From Settings, tap into any prompt to choose from a curated set of alternatives, or write your own custom prompt entirely.
How do I print or share my entries? From History, use the share/print icon to pick a date range. Evensong will generate a document you can print, save, or share however you’d like.
Does Evensong track my location in the background? No. Location is entirely optional and only added to an entry if you choose to - either by typing a place name or by tapping to use your current location for that specific entry.
Does Evensong back up my data anywhere? Optionally, yes. Turn on “Back up to iCloud” in Settings and your journal entries and weekly reflections sync to your own private iCloud account - never to a server we operate, and never somewhere we can see it.
What does Evensong Premium include? Evensong Premium ($1/month or $10/year) unlocks PDF export and 8 additional visual themes. Everything else in Evensong, including iCloud backup, stays free.
I already paid $2.99 for Evensong. Do I need to pay again? No. If you bought Evensong before it went free, you already have full access to Evensong Premium, forever, at no extra cost. The app checks this automatically using your Apple ID - there’s nothing you need to do.
How do I manage or cancel my Evensong Premium subscription? Open your device’s Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and select Evensong. You can also get there from inside the app: Settings, then Manage Subscription.
I subscribed but Premium features are still locked. What do I do? Try “Restore Purchases” from the paywall or Settings screen first - this re-checks your purchase with Apple. If it still doesn’t show up, email us at SundownDiary@gmail.com.
